The PLP-1000 (PlantPredict Layout) is an array layout drawing that combines your site design with high-level system and location information. It provides a fast and easy way to generate a professional array layout drawing that can be used as a formal deliverable in solar developer or engineering workflows.

Overview

The PLP-1000 report is accessible from the Header Bar in the Map Builder by clicking the PLP-1000 button. This opens the configuration interface where you can customize the layout appearance and report details before generating a PDF download.

Configuration Options

The PLP-1000 configuration panel provides the following options to customize your layout drawing:

PLP-1000 Base Layer

Select the background imagery for your layout:
OptionDescription
SatelliteUses satellite imagery as the base layer, showing aerial photography of the site
TerrainUses terrain imagery showing topographic contours and elevation features

PLP-1000 Layers

Toggle the visibility of various design layers on your layout:
LayerDescription
KML ImportShows any imported KML/KMZ boundary or feature data
SetbacksDisplays setback zones from site boundaries
Constraint OffsetsShows offset areas around defined constraints
Site BoundariesDisplays the site boundary polygon
ConstraintsShows constraint features (linear, area, and point constraints)
LabelsAdds labels to constraint features when Constraints layer is enabled
DC FloodDisplays the DC flood fill showing array coverage areas
AnnotationsShows any text annotations added to the design

Report Details

Configure the project information that appears on the layout drawing:
FieldDescription
Project DeveloperThe name of the project developer or owner
Project NameThe name of the solar project
Design NameThe name of this specific design iteration
MWac Net CapacityThe net AC capacity of the system in megawatts
Redacted VersionWhen checked, generates a redacted version of the layout suitable for external distribution

Map View Controls

The map preview within the configuration interface can be adjusted before export:
  • Zoom In / Zoom Out — Adjust the zoom level to show more or less detail
  • Pan — Click and drag to reposition the map view
  • Recenter — Adjust the view to ensure all relevant design elements are visible
The white border visible in the configuration interface represents the exact area that will be exported to the PDF. Position and zoom the map to ensure all desired elements are visible within this border.

Generating the Layout

Once you have configured the desired options:
  1. Adjust the map view to position your design within the white border
  2. Fill in the Report Details fields with project information
  3. Click Download PLP-1000 to generate and download the PDF
The generated PDF is formatted for 11” x 17” printing and includes:
  • The array layout map with selected layers
  • Location map showing the site position
  • Project Developer information
  • Project Site Description (hectares, coordinates, elevation)
  • Solar Production details (mounting type, azimuth, voltage, GCR)
  • Photovoltaic System Parameters (MWac, MWdc, DC:AC ratio)
  • PlantPredict branding and document ID
